Fairbanks has the Chena River flowing right through town. The Chena River is well known for Arctic Grayling fishing. And the best way to catch a grayling is to fly fish. The Chena also has some pike, burbot and an occasional sheefish. During July, the King Salmon run up the Salcha and Chena rivers. We use jet boats to fish these rivers. We are licensed fishing guides. We sell the fishing licenses. We have all the fishing equipment you will need. With 24 hours of daylight you can fish earlier or later in the day.
We offer Fairbanks fishing trips between June and August 5th. See the list of Fairbanks Fishing Trips below.

Fairbanks Chena River Arctic Grayling Fishing Trips. All grayling fishing is catch and release in the Chena drainage. Trip times include travel times. Price includes in town pick up.1 day fishing license $20.
#1) Chena River Headwaters trip. This is the best grayling fishing trip anywhere close to Fairbanks. This trip begins in the Chena River Recreation Area and goes up river, away from the road into true wilderness that is seldom fished. This is where the trophy grayling live. You'll enjoy a scenic and thrilling jet boat ride getting to the fishing locations. This trip is only available when the river level is high enough, so it may not be accessible all the time. A nearby river gauging station helps us determine if and when it is available. If the river is too low; the back up is launching further downstream where some of the other channels come together to provide enough water. We either leave early in the morning and come back at 5pm or in the afternoon and come back in the later evening.
All day 1-3 persons $1000 total.
#2) Up River portions of the Chena. This trip starts along Chena Hotsprings road inside the Chena River Recreation Area or at Chena Lakes river boat launch where we travel upriver towards the Rec area. It is 30 river miles between the Rec area and Chena Lakes. We use flat bottom outboard jet boats, 18-24 foot. It take about 45 minutes to drive from town to the launch sites. Early morning or evening trips are best for arctic grayling fishing. The bigger grayling are in this portion of the river. The water is usually clear and fast. You can fish from the boat and from sand bars. This is a very scenic trip.
